Mountain Hardwear: A company that's different
In 1993 a small group of people, who had weathered decades in the outdoor industry, decided to get together and form Mountain Hardwear. With a healthy disrespect for the business types who were saying it couldn't be done, we decided to take a fresh approach to making great gear. Figuring that if we made innovative, technologically advanced tents, outdoor clothing and sleeping bags, consumers would buy them. We were right.
But it wasn't just about making great gear. From all those years of working in the outdoor industry, we knew what we liked about the business, and we also knew what we wanted to change. We wanted to be fair, flexible and easy to do business with; a small, friendly company that kept alive the original outdoor spirit of our Berkeley, California home. We also wanted to bring the fun we have in the outdoors into the work place.
Mountain Hardwear now has over 50 people in our California office, 25 sales reps and associates across the United States, and representatives in Canada, Europe, Asia, South America, Australia and New Zealand. All have a thorough knowledge of the demands nature makes on outdoor gear. That helps us develop better equipment. All are dedicated to creating technically superior gear and delivering it on time. That makes our customers very happy.
